MyFoodOracle is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights and choices. By using MyFoodOracle you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, password (stored encrypted), age range, health context selections (such as perimenopause, postpartum, or breastfeeding), goal selection, food log entries, journal entries, habit data, weight and measurement data (if provided), progress photos (if provided), and cycle tracking data (if you opt in).
We collect information automatically: app usage patterns, feature engagement frequency, device type, and general location (city level only for restaurant recommendations, never stored). We do not collect precise GPS location data. We do not access your contacts, camera roll, or microphone except when you actively use those features within the app.
We use your information to provide the MyFoodOracle service and personalize your experience, to generate AI-powered behavioral insights and recommendations specific to you, to send you behavioral nudges and notifications based on your patterns, to improve the app and develop new features, and in anonymized and aggregated form to conduct research and generate business insights that may be shared with or licensed to third parties.
Individual-level data is never shared with third parties. Only aggregate anonymized data that cannot identify you is used for external purposes.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with the following categories of service providers who help us operate the app:
Each provider processes your data only as necessary to provide their services and is bound by data protection agreements. If you are a member through an organizational partnership your organization receives only aggregate anonymized data about their cohort. They never receive your individual data, your personal information, or your health information.
You have the right to access your personal data at any time through your account settings. You have the right to correct inaccurate data through your profile settings. You have the right to delete your account and your personal data by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes your personal data from our active systems within 30 days.
You have the right to opt out of anonymized data use for research and business purposes by going to Settings → Account → Data Preferences and disabling Contribute to anonymized research. You have the right to opt out of AI-powered personalization by going to Settings → Account → Data Preferences and disabling Personalized behavioral insights. Note that disabling this feature means the app cannot learn your patterns and your experience will be generic rather than personalized.

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authenticated users and authorized personnel. We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure you can only access your own data. Progress photos are stored with private access controls and are never accessible to other members or to coaches.
MyFoodOracle is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
If you choose to enable cycle tracking or provide health context information such as perimenopause or postpartum status this information is treated with the highest level of privacy protection. This data is used only to personalize your app experience. It is never included in any aggregate reporting, never shared with any third party, and never used for any purpose other than improving your personal experience in the app.
If you are a California resident you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app and by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
